Hiya!
It has been another good week.
We have been struggling to find new investigators to teach so we have
made it a goal to fast more frequently for new investigators. We fasted
on Wednesday this week and we didn't see results right away. We
continued to find and work hard and pray. On Friday after planning we
got a call from the Havant Elders who are teaching a less active member
in their ward who has a less active brother in our ward. We had been to
this guys house a few months previously but couldn't get a reply so we
left a little note thru the letter box. The elders suggested that we try
again because he had told his brohter of the card that we had left. So
we went on Sunday and they he was home. We talked to him briefly and he
told us that he hadn't been to church in over 20 years and he also had a
few misconceptions of the church. We continued talking and asked if we
could come around a share a message of the gospel with him and his
family. We scheduled an appointment for next week. We feel really good
about him and his family because his family is not members and he was
more than happy to have us around next week.
This week I have been studying faith a bit. I absolutely love the last talk that Elder Holland gave at conference this past spring. I studied his talk again and I was taught that it doesn't matter how big or small our faith is. The thing that is most important is that we hold to the faith that we have and exercise it as much as possible. If we are true to what we know no matter how much that may be that we will be guided and our faith will be strengthened. He talked about integrity and aobut how our integrity is lessened when we aren't true to what we know and just give up. I thought that was very profound and not something that I picked up the first few times that I have studied it. I know that we learn the things we need at exactly the right time that we need them. I know that my faith is sufficient and as I continue to listen to the spirit and act on promptings miracles will happen. So grateful for the words of the prophets that uplift and strengthen.
